Improving vision to improve quality of life
The aim of WIVI Vision is to reinforce vision and to improve visual issues. This, in a joint effort with the optometrist sector, will improve the quality of life of the general population. Our vision, comments Eva, “has three parts. The first is known by everybody: glasses, focus. But there are other parts. There is a neural part, that reads the images, and the mental part, that is, what our brain codifies.” WIVI Vision, according to its co-founder, puts the focus on these two, “that are not so worked out as the first one”. Answering the vision problems related to these two elements is the objective of WIVI.
By mixing IA and gamification, WIVI developed an efficient, fast and fun product
The company, says Eva García, must answer a precise market need, but it must be based on solid technology and science. In the first place, it must be supported by objective, measurable data with which to treat visual issues. As our co-partner Natural Optics Group put it, the project must be customer oriented. Towards that end, WIVI based its project on the Artificial Intelligence technology of IBM Watson. By mixing IA and gamification, WIVI developed an efficient, fast and fun product. In the standard methods, “everybody knows the symptoms” but “they don’t know how to define them”. Furthermore, the standard method “it is not so fun”, it takes longer and has a higher dropout rate.
The power of the IBM Watson IA technology, in the service of visual health
In the WIVI solution, IBM Watson contributes the technology part. In fact, as points out Mercedes Lucena, manager of Partner Ecosystem IBM Spain, it is innovating firms such as WIVI the ones who “brings innovation closer to the society…” WIVI, says Lucena, “has brought the full power of the IBM IA, until now reserved exclusively to great corporations, to other kinds of companies”. With WIVI, dropout rates are very low, unlike other standard methods. This is due to a combination of gamification and Artificial Intelligence that makes every user experience something unique and personal .
